Welcome! My name is Andrea and I thank you for taking this step to explore my services as a Health & Wellness Coach. It is my mission to inspire, educate and motivate you in achieving your health and wellness goals, wherever you are in your journey, through simple and easy modifications you can make in your everyday life. As the saying goes, 'If it were easy then everyone would be doing it'. Life gets in the way and sometimes we just need that coach in our corner to meet us half way and other times we have a goal in mind but don’t know where or how to start. This is where I can help.

I believe that most diseases can be prevented through understanding how Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition play a synergistic role in our overall health. With these 4 principles as our foundation we work together to create a sustainable lifestyle that  promotes a vibrant, flourishing, and active life throughout your retirement years.

Why did I become a Certified Health Coach?
Personally, I never considered being a health coach right away but rather I became passionate about health and wellness out of a health crisis of my own after I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in May 2015. It was a wake up call unlike any other and required me to do some soul searching amidst all of the expected feelings of immense stress, worry and being overwhelmed. I didn't want to let this traumatic experience be in vain. I wanted to use this experience to help others overcome their fears and challenges the same way my inner circle did when I reached out for help.

Through it all, I experienced first hand how difficult it really was to change my own routines and behavior and to make healthier choices. For me, it was shocking to see how the power of sugar seemed to win every time despite my efforts to maintain willpower. I knew then that I was in for a real struggle and I couldn’t live with a constant emotional, mental battle each time I needed to eat. I needed to re-learn how to eat, what to eat and why and put my self-care as priority 1. Being a busy mom with a busy career and family obligations I quickly realized even this wouldn’t come easily. I had to fight for it, for ME – and fight I did.

Like most people in the day to day, I had my good days and bad days but overtime with more knowledge and consistency, I managed to change my taste buds to enjoy the healthier foods I was eating which grew my confidence even further. It was through this process of personal healing and overcoming that I became more aware of the importance of proper nutrition, how stress levels deterred my healing, and how I needed to make better overall choices holistically from a Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition standpoint. It was clear, if I'm going to be here for the long-haul for my son and my family I need to make this a sustainable, long-term choice. What a blessing these life challenges provide for deeper learning and growth.

My message to you is this: Change is absolutely possible. You CAN conquer that mountain. This is your journey! Embrace it. Continue to learn from it and to pursue the life you want to live. If any of this resonates with you, I'd be honored to help you along the way.

Andrea received her Health Coach Certification from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, founded by world-renowned physician and author, Dr. William Sears. The Institute is a leader in science-based health and wellness education that focuses on the four pillars of health; Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition (L.E.A.N.).  A certification by the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute is obtained only after completing the extensive course work and meeting all requirements.  Once certified, a Health Coach possess the knowledge, tools and resources to make a positive difference in the health of others.
